Sliding promises

The most powerful policy tool securing stability and security of countries/ regions and preventing conflicts is EU enlargement. Current enlargement process lacks political will and a Member-State(s) lobbyist. The debate concerning the enlargement fatigue vs. the accession fatigue makes EU look like the Bermuda Triangle - the closer you get to it, the faster it disappears from the horizon. Agenda 2014 and Greece as the country-lobbyist is clearly not viable. The accomplishments of Thessaloniki Summit 2003 could have been better. Visa liberalisation proved efficient and pushed governments to deliver.
